Review:

The Carbon Buster's Home Energy Handbook. For the $10 cost of the book, it promised to carve out $17 000 off the average family's energy consumption over 5 years, not to mention tonnes of co2 exceeding the requirements of Kyoto by 860%!. Not a bad investment, IMO. I love how he makes you think of the long term costs of a product you may have lying around the house sucking energy and the savings for both you and the environment if you eliminated it or changed it slightly. You'd be surprised how much and how quickly it adds up. For example, you walk onto a car lot and see a Prius and Chevy Equinox. Both are the same price to drive off the lot. However, over 200 000 miles you'll save the price of the vehicle in fuel costs if you're driving the Prius. That's a big one, of course. But even little things like the extra fridge you have in the basement cooling your six pack. Factoring in the costs of the energy running your fridge you'd be shocked at the cost of a cool one really is. Anyway, get the god damn book or expect it in your Christmas stocking this year from me.
